Country Music’s Sexiest Men, 2017

The internet is buzzing with rumours that Blake Shelton will be named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2017.

We aren’t here to tell you that they made the wrong choice, but we are here to put a spotlight on some of the other sexy men in country music.

In the last couple of years we’ve had the chance to see these men perform on stage, and as great as they are with the microphone in their hands, they elicit a whole lot of cheers for their look up there on stage.

Have a look at our list and pics of Blake Shelton and our 10 more sexy country music men, and leave a comment to tell us who you think is tops OR who you think we missed.

Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton-Country Thunder 2017 Blake Shelton is one of the biggest stars in the world today. Between his regular appearances at the top of the country music charts and his seat in the spinning chair on The Voice, he’s everywhere. And as the 41 year old Oklahoman adds more salt and pepper to his look, the sexier he seems to get.

Luke Bryan

Boots and Hearts 2017 - Luke Bryan What do we need to say to share the point that Luke Bryan is sexy?! The dude has women pawing at him so much he’s had to make rules about it. When he rotates his hips, it turns into gifs. This Georgia daddy has got to be on every ‘sexy men in country music’ list.

Brett Eldredge

Whether he’s on stage with a couple buttons undone, or he’s in a tux on the way to an awards show, he shines. The eyes, the smile, the voice, and the laugh… they add up for Brett Eldredge.

Dallas Smith

Dallas Smith CNE 2015Dallas Smith-Country Thunder 2017This Canadian country music rockstar has it all going for him. Give him some ripped jeans, roll up the sleeves to see the ink, and give him a little stubble of a beard if you’re into that sort of thing. Dallas Smith is legit.

Dylan Scott

If you didn’t already know, you could probably also guess that he’s had a career as a model. He’s chiseled and has the look and we could probably forgive him if he had a Drinkin’ Problem.

Chad Brownlee

My Girl: Dylan Scott at Boots & Hearts 2016!

Few artists packed the tent at the Boots & Hearts Front Porch stage the way Dylan Scott did, and there’s little wonder as to why after seeing him perform for the second August in a row.

Yes, it’s true that Scott came back to Canada without the benefit of an album’s worth of material fully familiar to fans. But he did bring some singles, some covers, and some new songs that we’re all going to know really soon… with his self titled debut album coming out Friday, August 12!

Dylan Scott brings the whole package to the stage. He’s got catchy, upbeat songs to pull you in, he’s got sweeter, sexier tracks to keep you going, he’s got a deep, powerful voice that has been described as a mix of leather and whiskey, and those arms and eyes and beard and… ya, ok, he’s handsome.

On Sunday at #BH5 Dylan brought all of that and more to an energized and enthusiastic crowd that sang his songs, and the covers he played, back to him with all kinds of volume and precision. You could see in his eyes that he may not have expected it, but at the same time he was soaking it in and enjoying it. And the fans were enjoying things too.

Dylan Scott BH5 Boots and Hearts 2016

The 25 year old showed his ability to work the crowd by telling stories about his songs…

‣ The story for My Girl was adorable, and started with that line about his high school girlfriend, now wife, turning to rap Eminem’s Lose Yourself directly into his face and loving every second of it.

‣ The story behind Beer Buddies was just as sweet, but in a different way, celebrating the bonds of friendship and loyalty between truly good friends… plus the inspiration came from a friend’s Facebook status.

‣ And the story of growing up listening to the country countdown radio show, dreaming of hearing his name and his song someday becoming a reality when Crazy Over Me did just that for him was the kind of thing you hope little kids hear and pushes them to go after their dreams too.

Dylan Scott BH5 Boots and Hearts 2016The bottom line is this, Dylan Scott has “it” and is ready to break out… and I’m ready to predict right now that this album is going to help him do just that. I don’t know if he’s going to reach Thomas Rhett level success with his break, but if Dylan keeps pushing forward with new music, more shows, and the excellent work he does on social media (seriously, he’s worth a follow on Facebook) there’s no doubting that he’ll continue to see more and more new fans singing the words back to him when he’s playing on stage.

Check out the set list, more pics, and a little video clip of Dylan paying tribute to his hero Keith Whitley…

Boots & Hearts 2016 Lineup Announcement #3 – Jake Owen, Dean Brody, Diamond Rio, Dylan Scott and More!

It’s a big morning for country music fans in Ontario with 16 new names added to the 2016 Boots & Hearts lineup!

There are personal highlights for me (DIAMOND RIO!!!) and some big names that people have been waiting to see on the B&H stage, plus acts that we’ve seen before and are very happy to see returning to the Boots & Hearts stages.

We’re also excited to see emerging talent represented on this list, and while the Republic Live team has always shown us that they’re willing to give young artists a chance, it’s still awesome to see every year.

So, let’s take a look at some of the highlights and what we think we can expect from these fine country music acts.

❤️Jake Owen
Jake Owen CMT AwardsJake is an artist that I am very very happy to see on this list. I can not wait to see him on stage in either jeans or board shorts, swaying and singing, and generally making sure we’re all having a good time. My guess is that this is a set that’s going to happen as the sun is getting ready to go down on us at Burl’s Creek, and we can’t wait for that barefoot blue jean night.

❤️Dean Brody
Dean-Brody-Boots-and-Bourbon-Toronto-2015 SLIDERMr. Brody is one of our favs here on the blog. We talked to him last summer while he was on his lunch break at the sawmill (building his own house) and watched him kill it pre-game with the Blue Jays. It’s always a good time when he takes the stage, and the Boots & Hearts crowd has always shown that they love him. Here’s hoping we get some whistle and ukulele this August!

❤️Diamond Rio
Diamond RioI LOVE Diamond Rio, I have since I was a boy, and I am thrilled to see them announced for B&H 2016. I’ve predicted them before, and here we are… I can not wait to hear tracks like One More Day, Meet In The Middle, Norma Jean Riley, How Your Love Makes Me Feel, and more! Don’t mind me if I’m singing along to every single song in this set.

❤️Chase Bryant
Chase BryantChase Bryant is an artist on the rise… he’s only 22, but already making a name for himself on the country music scene, and that’s why he’s on this list today. Chase has two Top 20 singles already, and we won’t be surprised if there are 1 or 2 more before he gets to Boots & Hearts this summer.

❤️Dylan Scott
Dylan Scott Boots and Hearts 2015 2My man-crush is back baby! We were introduced to Dylan largely because of Boots & Hearts 2015, and it’s been a great ride as a fan ever since. From our first Q&A he’s been surprising us, and when he rocked the small stage last year the roof almost blew off the tent. Be ready for more of that in 2016 as the boy from Louisiana comes back to Ontario to make more fans, and to hear more ladies scream for him.

❤️Lindsay Ell
Lindsay EllSpeaking of crushes, have you heard Lindsay Ell play guitar? Because that alone is enough to make you stop and stare. Add her voice and you’ve got the reason she’s coming to play ont he B&H stage. There’s a chance the some of the 45,000 in attendance won’t know what they’re getting into when Lindsay plugs in, but they’ll know exactly why they need to follow her when she’s done!

❤️Raquel Cole
Raquel ColeRaquel is going to get to introduce herself to a whole bunch of country music fans at B&H. With a sweet voice, the ability to command attention with just a guitar and microphone, and a smile on her face – Boots fans are going to be happy with this performance. We’re willing to bet on that.

❤️River Town Saints
River Town Saints CMW 2015These guys?! Love it! We first saw River Town Saints opening for Kira Isabella at Canadian Music Week last spring… and now look at them. A Little Bit Goes A Long Way has people taking notice for all the right reasons, they fill the stage with sound when they get started, and the energy levels are going to be high from start to finish. This is a set that you need to circle on your schedule. Trust us.

❤️Madeline Merlo
Madeline Merlot Bright Lights Big City Toronto The PhoenixThis announcement makes us happy! Madeline is awesome on stage and in person, and with a new album coming in 2016 we know that she’s going to be ready to give the fans a show in the summer sun at Boots & Hearts. Here’s hoping we get to meet up with the rising star for a little Honey Jack and conversation to talk about everything that she’s got planned for the fans at this big show!

❤️David James
David JamesRepresenting the MDM stable of artists, David James is ready for his turn up on the stage this summer! With a new EP on the way, this Manitoba boy has been making waves with Some Hearts, and his hard work in the country music industry. We know that he already has a fanbase that’s growing day-by-day, and by this summer David should have no problem at all with name recognition and entertaining the crowd.

❤️Lindsay Broughton
Steak Stock 2015 Lindsay BroughtonWe love Lindsay. She’s awesome. Oh, also she has some great music to share with the country fans, and we know that she loves to get up and put on a show. We’ve seen it before, we’ll see it again, and this summer at Boots & Hearts a whole bunch of people are going to see it too. We’re already planning a hangout with Lindsay to talk about the festival and just how great this is going to be!

❤️The Reklaws
The Reklaws Boots and Hearts 2015They’re Back! Jenna and Stuart are becoming part of the Boots & Hearts DNA, and that’s totally okay with us. Last year they did a great job getting the Thursday night kick off party started, and we know they’re going to bring it again in 2016. There’s also a strong chance that we see them grab the microphones to host the weekend on the main stage, and we’ll probably get to hear their original Boots & Hearts track again this August.

❤️The Dungarees
The DungareesThey’ve opened for Blake, Reba, Miranda… they’ve played Big Valley Jamboree, Dauphin CountryFest – and now The Dungarees are ready to at Boots & Hearts 2016 to their list of big show accomplishments. These 5 boys look like they mean business… and at B&H thousands of us are going to see exactly what they’re brining to the party!

❤️Kaitlin Kozell
Steak Stock 2015 Kaitlin Kozell bandWe saw Kaitlin last summer at Steak Stock in Ajax, ON and were really impressed with everything she brought to her set. She’s got the guitar, the songs, the smile, the energy, and you can tell that she really loves being up on the stage with the crowd in front of her. The Boots & Hearts crowd will be bigger than the one at the race track, and we’re excited to see how she responds!

❤️Brea Lawrenson
Brea Lawrenson 2The CMAO nominated Lawrenson is coming to Boots & Hearts, and y’all should be happy about that. Brea has been performing her songs, writing new songs, recording songs, and continuing the cycle with the passion it takes to make it in country music. It’s great to see more Ontario music added to the lineup and we are happy that Brea Lawrenson is part of this list.

❤️MacArthur Clark
MacArthur ClarkAll the way from Peterborough, ON MacArthur Clark are coming back to Burl’s Creek after taking the stage for both WayHome and B&H in 2015. The boys offer a offers an new take on traditional Country, R&B and a touch of Gospel that we know the Boots & Hearts crowd can get into… that’s why they’re coming back again in 2016!

Ones to Watch in 2016!

2015 is wrapping up, and I promised a Ones to Watch in 2016 list, so here it is.

If you’ve got an artist that you think we should be watching for next year, please leave a comment and tell us so we can add them to our list!

Cam Untamed Feature BannerCam With a brand new album dropping this December, Cam is prepping for a big 2016. We’re already in love with Burning House and My Mistake, and with 8 new tracks coming on the Untamed album, we’re betting that we’re going to have more to love in the coming year. She’s bubbly and sweet and easy to crush on… let’s see where this goes.

Dylan Scott Boots and Hearts 2015 2Dylan Scott 2015 was a big year for Dylan as he built his fanbase with some great work on social media, and cracked the Top 40 country charts with Crazy Over Me. After catching young Mr. Scott on stage at Boots & Hearts this summer we’re hoping for big things and another trip to play for Canadian crowds.

Meghan Patrick at Liuna Station Gibson at the Junos 2015Meghan Patrick Meghan’s been down in Nashville killing it in the studio recording music after signing with Warner Music Canada and The Agency Group earlier this year. I can’t wait to hear what the writing sessions and studio work produce from a Durham County local girl that we’ve been watching hone her craft for the last few years.

The Lazys Toronto Horseshoe TavernThe Lazys The Aussie rockers are loud and obnoxious in the very best of ways. After hanging out for a beer, talking music, and watching them up on stage, we know these boys are ready for more. With writing and recording pencilled into their 2016 schedule, including another trip back to North America, our fingers are crossed that we’ll see The Lazys headline with new material to go with the stuff we already dig.

Sam Hunt with guitar Wheels Up Tour Toronto June 2015Sam Hunt Yes, everyone already knows Sam Hunt and he’s hella popular, but we also hear that he’s working on some new music to follow up Montevallo. It might be hard to avoid a sophomore slump after such huge early success, and that’s why we’re watching… we want to see him knock another one out of the park.

Johnson Crook Boots and Hearts 2015Johnson Crook These 4 dudes are a bucket of fun and their talent shines through in the early work they’ve done together. We know they’ve been in studio, and can’t wait to see what tracks make it to the final product.

River Town Saints CMW 2015River Town Saints These boys know how to have fun on stage, and that’s been a key in starting to make a name for themselves on the Canadian country music scene. There’s a lot more to come from River Town Saints and 2016 is going to be the start of that story.

Cory Marquardt CNE 2015Cory Marquardt He parties hard and works harder, and that’s going to result in more and more opportunity and face time for this former hockey player. We know there’s a new video (with a cameo by his dog Emma) and single on the way, and with any luck that’ll be the start of a big year.

Mieke 3Mieke I really dug the early release work from Mieke this summer, and we’re hoping that there’s more coming in 2016. If you still haven’t heard Sleeping Alone, give it a listen and let us know what you think.

Livy Jeanne CNE 2015 Northern Comfort SaloonLivy Jeanne In 2015 she worked the stage and the backstage microphone, and she made friends everywhere she went. If 2016 is anything like that, we’ll be happy. We’ll also be happy when more people know her name – and we’ve still got “hang out with Livy and Jordan McIntosh” on our To Do List.

Boots and Hearts 2016 BannerBoots & Hearts OK, it’s weird to put a festival on this list, but as we all get ready for the B&H 5th Anniversary it’s impossible not to think about the weekend we’re going to have at Burl’s Creek and who else is going to be added to a lineup that already includes Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley.

5 Tips for Finding More New Music

We wish you guys could hear it all…

Laptop and Headphones New MusicThere is so much music being made right now. We’re lucky enough to be sent links and streams from local artists in Toronto, the rest of Canada, across the United States, and Europe. There’s just not enough time in the day to write about it all or see all of the shows or tell you about the great new stuff we’ve discovered.

But trust this, there is no shortage of talent or passion or dedication when it comes to the music scene right now.

For every record or single released by an artist/band you already know and love, there are dozens of others that you may never hear. And while that’s sucky, it’s the reality.

So how can we all discover more music to love?

Keep your eyes out for links…

All of these hungry new acts are using social media to get the word out about their music. If you see a band name you don’t recognize in your Twitter stream or on Facebook, click through and see if you like it.

Go to more local live shows…

CMW 2015 Aussie BBQ The HorseshoeI know I just said at the top that there isn’t enough time to go to every show, and there isn’t. But if you can get to 1 show a week or 1 show a month or every 2 months, whatever, you will see new acts you just might fall in love with. Pay the $10 cover and see 3 or 4 new bands plus the 1 you already know in the lineup. Have a drink or three and enjoy the night.

Note: if you have a chance to hit a festival like Boots & Hearts or WayHome or TURF, etc. hit the side stages to see new music. Even the main stage is a great place to check out early in the day before the headliners start to put on their bigger sets.

Spotify and Apple Music…

Yes there are more options for streaming music, but right now we’re using both Spotify and Apple Music to listen to music from artists we know and love, as well as new acts that we’re auditioning for future playlists. Take a chance and listen to a new releases playlist. It could be very worth it.

Share with friends…

If you start sharing new music that you find with your friends you may just find that they have all kinds of recommendations for you as well. It’s just as impossible for you as it is for us to know every new band… but if we pool our resources and experiences and new favourites, we can all be winners and have new music to love!

Follow thereviewsarein.com…

When The Lights Go Down Toronto Jess-8076We will continue to try and balance our coverage between established acts and new and emerging artists. We love watching artists like Jess Moskaluke and Dylan Scott blow up after we’ve already fallen in love with them. And we know that some of the other new acts we love are going to find love in the world of listeners as well.

Keep your ears open for Trinity Bradshaw, The Reklaws, Johnson Crook, Mieke, Birds of Bellwoods, Lindsay Broughton, Whitney Rose, Tim Chaisson, Runaway Angel, Livy Jeanne, Cory Marquardt, The Luke Austin Band, Meghan Patrick, and more and more and more – the talent is out there. And they aren’t going away, they’re only getting stronger.

We love music. That’s why we do this. And discovering new music is a huge part of the whole experience. Don’t miss out on that part.
You’ll regret it.

Boys of Summer: Emerson Drive, Wes Mack, and Dylan Scott at Boots & Hearts 2015!

There’s no argument about the talent that showed up at Boots & Hearts 2015… and while we have put a lot of focus on the ladies leading up to, during, and following the festival, the men didn’t disappoint.

Between 2 stages and 2 days, Dylan Scott, Wes Mack, and Emerson Drive played their sets for the country music fans in Oro-Medonte – and none of them let us down.

Dylan Scott Boots and Hearts 2015 6Dylan Scott took the Front Porch Stage on Saturday in when he came out the young crowd under the tent let him hear a mighty cheer that put a smile on his face instantly.

Starting his set with Lay It On Me, Scott gave back all the energy the audience was feeding him, and blasted out the words as the fans sang them back in unison. It wasn’t lost on him, and after the song he told everyone how impressed he was with their noise level and told them if they kept it up, “We’re gonna have a party this afternoon. I promise you that.”

Dylan Scott is a star on the rise, and one we’ve had our eye on for a while. We can’t wait to see him again, hopefully really soon.

Wes Mack

Wes Mack Boots and Hearts 2015From Emerging Artist Showcase contestant to Main Stage love, Wes Mack is becoming more and more familiar with Boots & Hearts.

On Sunday afternoon Wes popped out onto the stage and gave it all he had for the fans that sat, stood, and danced in the bright sunshine. This Canadian isn’t new to big crowds, opening for Shania Twain will certainly get you used to seeing people in the audience – but he hasn’t taken it for granted either.

With a set that included The Way You Let Me Down, Before You Drive Me Crazy, a cover of Jason Aldean’s Take A Little Ride, and a great rendition of Duet with the help of Kira Isabella, Wes Mack showed that he belongs on stage just as much as he belongs on TV screens.

We’re excited for new music from Wes Mack and the release of Edge of the Storm on September 4th!

Emerson Drive

Emerson Drive Boots and Hearts 2015The boys of Emerson Drive saved the day when the helped fill the hole left by Little Big Town at Boots & Hearts. By taking Dallas Smith’s scheduled spot they gave us a full Sunday of music on the main stage – and they came ready.

The band has been together for a while (20 years now) and that time has supplied them with a great collection of songs to play live, the skills they need to put on a great show, and has not taken away their enjoyment of the whole thing.

Note: We know Emerson Drive put on a good show because we saw Republic Live co-founder Shannon McNevan singing along in the crowd.

Like Wes Mack, Emerson Drive also brought out a friend with Tebey joining the boys to sing their country-fied version of Avicii’s Wake Me Up. That was a nice surprise that we didn’t see coming!

5 New Country Acts We’re Excited to See at Boots & Hearts 2015

Boots & Hearts is coming. We’ve been over that. Single Day VIP passes are available. Daily schedules have been released. Excitement is growing.

We all know who the headliners are, and we love them. Just like you, we can’t wait to see Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, Dallas Smith, Jess Moskaluke, Kira Isabella, etc, etc, etc… but there are other acts, new acts, that we can’t wait to see up on stage as well.

So let’s break down 5 of the acts that aren’t headliners yet – but are on their way.

Leah Daniels

Leah Daniels CMAO 2015Fresh off her Rising Star win at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, Leah Daniels is getting ready for a huge push!

With Go Back going Top 20, Dream Without You climbing the charts right now, and a stage show that continues to get better and better. We can’t wait to see what the Uxbridge girl brings to the Boots & Hearts stage. You can be sure you’re going to see a big smile, a big voice, and a boat load of enthusiasm.

Be ready to hear some new music, maybe some great covers – but most of all, be ready to see an artist that you’re going to hear a lot more of in the next few years!

Maddie & Tae

Maddie and Tae Start Here Album CoverIn 2014 these girls took the country music world by storm with Girl In A Country Song. And now we’re only 2 and a half months away from the release of their debut full length album, Start Here, and that’s exciting for fans and for Maddie & Tae.

Fly has been a strong 2nd single for the duo and we can’t wait to hear those 2 songs as well as like Your Side Of Town, Sierra, and maybe a few new ones that we haven’t heard yet. Boots & Hearts is going to feel like an unofficial Canadian album release party – just 3 weeks early. We’re ready for that!

Old Dominion

Old DominionWith Break Up With Him all over the place right now it’s hard to believe that there are many country fans that aren’t familiar with Old Dominion. And if you don’t know that song yet, maybe you remember Shut Me Up from just a little while ago.

The songs that these boys sing lead us to believe that we’re going to get a fun set. The harmonies are tight, the potential for some loud guitar action is there – and with a few thousand of their closest Canadian friends in the audience we have a feeling that they’re going to be excited.

Shut me up by showing up/ With strawberry stuff on your lips you know I like so much/ Just a little kiss will do the trick/ Give me something else to do with my lips…

Dylan Scott

Dylan Scott Lay It On MeWe’ve said a lot about Dylan Scott already (Boots & Hearts Preview: Dylan Scott Q&A and 7 Reasons to Fall in Love with Dylan Scott). We’re fans and we’re ready for more.

We know that Dylan’s set is going to include Lay It On Me, Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, as well as covers of Keith Whitley’s When You Say Nothing At All and maybe even Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud since it was so huge on Facebook, YouTube and iTunes.

It is also pretty safe to say that Dylan Scott is going to bring a ton of Southern Boy Charm with him when he comes to Burl’s Creek. And we can’t wait.

Lennon & Maisy

Lennon and MaisyWe really have no idea what we’re going to get from Lennon & Maisy and Boots & Hearts. They could have their own set. They could pop up on stage with their mom and dad (The Stellas). But either way I’m guessing that we’re going to see them on the main stage. There’s too much recognition thanks to ABC’s Nashville.

If we do see the girls take the stage on their own we’re hoping that we get to see covers like Ho Hey, Boom Clap and maybe even Call Your Girlfriend. And with the release of the girls’ new book, we’re expecting to hear In The Waves as well. Oh, and if we don’t hear A Life That’s Good, we’ll be sad.

No matter what happens we know that the crowd is going to pop for Lennon & Maisy, and we can’t wait to see their faces and hear their voices when that happens!

2. His Beard

Dylan Scott Beard Rugged and manly, but well kept and stylish, Dylan’s beard is ready to build you a log cabin or meet your mom.

3. His Body

Dylan Scott Body Oh hai. Dylan either spends a bunch of time in the gym, or he’s perfect and crafted by the Gods. Look at those arms. That chest. My goodness. *swoon*

4. He’s About That Country Life

Boots & Hearts 2015 Countdown and Preview #2

We’ve been over the fact that we’re excited for Boots & Hearts 2015 – and we keep saying that we aren’t alone in that excitement… well today, we prove it!

With the help of some awesome friends we are previewing 6 more B&H artists.
Trish – writer & photographer, you’ve seen her @trishca wordmark on photos here!
Shannon – lady of the internet and lover of country music.
Joscelyn – sports and country music fan, we bond over the Blue Jays and banjos.
Trinity Bradshaw – singer/ songwriter/ 2014 Emerging Artist winner at B&H/ fun friend.

Each of us have taken a crack at 3 of the artists in this post… except Trinity, who we talked into writing about all 6. Have a look at why we’re excited to see these great acts this summer at Burl’s Creek Event Park and leave a comment to tell us why you’re excited!

Here we go…

Florida Georgia Line Anything GoesFlorida Georgia Line

Trinity: These boys work very hard… Deserve every bit of success! Very talented, and brought a new flavour to country music … Probably converted many new country fans as well. Can’t wait to see them perform!

Joscelyn: Am I allowed to say that I’m mostly looking forward to seeing Florida Georgia Line again, because of BK’s face? I was completely smitten with this duo when I was introduced to their first studio album ‘Here’s To The Good Times’, but I didn’t take to their sophomore album ‘Anything Goes’ quite as strongly. Regardless, their energy on stage is contagious, and watching their bromance during a performance is hilarious! They make me shake my “sugar shaker”, if you know what I mean.

Shannon: Florida Georgia Line are the band you make your friends listen to when they say, “I like ALL music, except country.” Because it’s virtually impossible to listen to Cruise or This is How We Roll without having a damn good time. The bad boys of country, I can’t wait to see them let loose on the Boots & Hearts stage. Light it up boys!

High Valley County LineHigh Valley

Trinity: Love these guys! They were so so nice to me when we were backstage before my first ever main stage debut (I like to call it that), I was very nervous, but Brad’s perfect smile distracted me. Kidding, but great smile! So much fun to watch live!

Joscelyn: CANADIANS! Maybe it’s just me, but I feel a sense of patriotic pride when I hear these guys perform. Returning to Boots and Hearts for their fourth year in a row, I’ll be curious to see if their on-stage chemistry has changed even more, going into their second summer without Bryan being a part of the group. I’m most looking forward to hearing ‘She’s with Me’ and ‘Rescue You’ from their latest album ‘County Line’ — two songs that transform me into girly mush. Guys, take note of the lyrics, and feel free to use them on your sweetie. You can thank me later.

Josh: After watching Brad and Curtis host Boots & Hearts last summer I had a feeling that we’d see them back on stage in 2015. And then when County Line came out in October, I knew it was going to happen. These guys are a lot of fun when they sing and have a great relationship with the crowd. I’m excited to see them play songs from the new record when they get up there for us.

Thomas Rhett It Goes Like ThisThomas Rhett

Trinity: Haha I think he’s adorable. I mean like, handsome adorable. Love his music, and his voice. He makes me smile.

Joscelyn: Hands down, Thomas Rhett is one of my favourite artists to watch live; he actively engages his audience, takes the time to interact with the crowd, listens to shouted responses, and does some of the slickest skinny-jean-wearing, country-boy dancing I’ve ever seen. With five singles now released off of his 2013 album ‘It Goes Like This’, I’m dying to know… when is he releasing Album #2?! It’s time to take advantage of the traction he gained winning the ACM ‘New Artist of the Year’ award, as voted by the fans — a totally deserving title, by the way.

Trish: Thomas Rhett is no slouch. His dad is well known singer-songwriter Rhett Akins and Thomas is an amazing singer-songwriter in his own right. I was lucky enough to see him close up at Toronto’s Rock’n’ Horse Saloon while he was here on tour with Miranda Lambert. He’s a charmer, has a great voice and that man can move! Make sure you put Thomas on your list.

Chad Brownlee The FightersChad Brownlee

Trinity: I really dig his music! Haven’t met him yet, although I hope to maybe bump into him this year – who knows. Love his voice… Haven’t caught him live yet, so I sure hope to this year!!

Trish: My first year covering Boots and Hearts Chad Brownlee played the main stage on the Saturday. The crowd was very responsive and I’ll admit, he turned my head. But, a pretty face will only take you so far in the music world. Chad backs up his good looks with some pretty great guitar skills and a wonderful tone. Honestly, I’m surprised the world isn’t kicking down his door. Tall, handsome, talented, I’m a fan of the baseball cap, his voice and the tattoos. Chad can sing for me anytime.

Shannon: A Canadian hockey player who sings country? He’s every small town girl’s dream, including mine. But aside from the fact that Chad is charming, sexy and probably super polite (yay Canada) he’s got a great voice and an incredibly unique sound. A little slower than most modern country Fallin Over You and When The Lights Go Down are sure to have the Boots & Hearts crowd swaying and singing along as the sun sets over the grounds.

Small Town Pistols CCMA AwardsSmall Town Pistols

Trinity: Back In the day … I was a huge huge fan of the Wilkinsons … I mean, who wasn’t! I would love to see Amanda and Tyler perform.

Trish: You may know Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson from The Wilkinsons. They played with their dad Steve from 1997 until 2009. Amanda and Tyler released their debut album in 2013 and by 2014 they’d taken home the CCMA Group or Duo of the year award. Amanda’s deep rich voice is riveting and when they sing together, wow.

Josh: I have loved Tyler and Amanda since they were singing with their dad as The Wilkinsons. And I’ve been waiting somewhat patiently to see them at Boots & Hearts since 2012. In fact, I’ve predicted them more than once. I really hope we get to hear songs like Colour Blind and Blame It On The Radio as well as covers like Fast Car and old tunes like 26 Cents, Jimmy’s Got A Girlfriend and Fly.

Dylan Scott Lay It On MeDylan Scott

Trinity: I admire songwriters … And he’s a great one! Moved to Nashville, and made it! Love his new single and can’t wait to hear more 🙂

Shannon: If you don’t fall in love with Dylan the first time you hear his smooth as silk, rough as whiskey voice pouring through your headphones, then I’m sorry but I don’t quite understand you as a person. Whether he’s tackling tunes made famous by Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran or treating you to his original work this young man is old-school country fabulous. The first time I heard Making This Boy Go Crazy I was about 90% sure that he was somehow related to Chris Young and Josh Turner, of course he isn’t…. sadly, because what a trio that would be!? If Dylan has half the charisma on stage that he does on camera I’m sure that he’ll be one of the best performances at Boots & Hearts this year.

Josh: Since I first looked into getting Dylan to do a Q&A with us I’ve been hooked. His voice is exactly what I wish I sounded like when I sing. I love this covers of Thinking Out Loud and When I Was Your Man, and this young man is absolutely killing it with his own tracks Making This Boy Go Crazy and Lay It On Me. In his Q&A Dylan promised a lot of smiles, a lot of energy and a lot of fun when he takes the stage at Boots & Hearts. I can’t wait to see it.

Alright kids, that’s all for today. Leave us a comment telling us who you’re excited for at Boots & Hearts 2015. And in case you missed it, check out the 1st preview we did with Trinity where we looked at Eric Church, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town, Kira Isabella, Dallas Smith and Maddie & Tae.
