Thanks to You & New Things Coming Soon!

Here it is, my first post as a 29 year old blogger. Another year older, more experienced and perhaps greyer.

It’s also the first post where I come right out and tell you that I’m for hire and will be launching some pretty rad things in the next little while.

First though, and most importantly I’d like to thank everyone for making my entire birthday process one to remember fondly and with a big smile full of win. I may have been crutched up and slower than usual but none of you held it against me. Thank you. There are far too many of you to thank individually but I do want to recognize Megan for making a Greyhound trip from Ottawa to spend 30 hours visiting. Also, the #loserkaraoke kids and Twitter folk who were out Thursday at Tequila Sunrise as well as at the Birthday Social on Saturday night at the Friar& Firkin were all awesome as per usual. You guys and gals tickle me pink.

Side note: Thanks to Amanda and the Friar& Firkin for taking great care of us and saving the tables we eventually needed later in the evening.

There isn’t much more a boy could ask for without turning into one of those spoiled brats on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen. I feel blessed, lucky and loved. Thank you all for the tweets, facebook posts, bbms and texts. My world has been rocked.

Side note II: Sean came through with a pack of hockey cards Sunday night which was all kinds of awesome. And I’ll admit that I tried to put them in my pocket and save them for later like an adult but within 5 minutes they were open on the table. There’s just something about cards that makes me 9 all over again. Thanks buddy.

As for the exciting new stuff that’s coming – I can’t give away too much as there are still many details to play with. What I can tell you is that there will be a charity initiative that makes me very happy. I look forward to putting together some great partnerships and making a difference as soon as Summer 2011. There will be events that require and encourage your participation. There will be fun and laughs and video and blogging and I promise you that we will have a good time while we do great things for people who aren’t as fortunate as you and I.

There will also be some new places to find me on the internets. I plan on spreading my wings and expanding my reach. I want to touch on some things that I haven’t in the past and cultivate some new working relationships. This excites me to no end. I don’t even have the words to explain how much I’ve waited to work with some of the people that could end up in my portfolio.

The truth is that I didn’t think having my birthday was going to do anything to me this year. I’m pretty satisfied with how life is going. But I know that I can do more. But that’s only going to happen if I step up and make it happen. So this is step 1. And you can count on the fact that there are many more steps where this one came from!

Stay awesome!
