My 2012 Un-Resolutions!

Just like I did at the start of 2011 I refuse to make resolutions for 2012.

Resolutions fail way too often (my hunch is that the number is somewhere north of 90%) and I don’t need that kind of guaranteed failure in my life.

So – this year I’m making a list of things that I would like to try/accomplish/get done in the coming year. Some of them will be easier than others. Some will require guidance and assistance. And some will just be more difficult than others.

Without any more ado, here we go:

1) Turn 30: There’s not much effort required in this one. It’s going to happen whether I like it or not… I just hope that some of you will be able to celebrate with me and have a little bit o’ fun.

2) Bake more: I started doing some baking a little while ago and then I cooled down. Getting back into that swing would be pretty great. I love sweets and I often complain that there aren’t any in the apartment. Maybe I should step up and do it myself. (recipes welcome)

3) Get in shape: Part of it might be the job and the client. Part of it might be the 30. Either way, I’d like to get in better shape. Closer to where I was at 18. More sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, maybe some yoga, running, healthier food choices, etc. I think I can get it done.

Note: I’m undecided as to whether I will post before and after photos.

4) Write and post more: I posted a bunch in 2011, but I would like to post more. I need to schedule writing into my life. I would also like to continue the trend of writing about things that matter to me and are important. Charity, good news stories, sports, food and maybe some comic books.

5) See Batman: That’s right. I’m writing it down now to make sure that I have something pushing me to go and see this flick. Not that I think I’m going to need it… but every little bit helps.

6) Show my love for Parkdale: I’m not quite sure how I plan to get this done. It may take help from other Parkdale lovers… We’ll figure something out!

7) Read more books: There are a lot of great books out in the world and I’m not reading nearly enough of them. If you have suggestions please feel free to leave them in the comment section with your baking recipes. I like books, I like holding books, I like the smell of books… I may even need a new book shelf.

8) Play more Scrabble: Bring it on. I don’t win much. I’ve lost my killer instinct. But I would like to play more. Let’s set up the board!

9) Read more comic books: I just love them so much and get such a kick out of them. Who wants to set up a comic book swapping system so everyone gets to read?

10) Be a good friend: I’ve got great friends. They are awesome and I want to return that favor. If I can be a good friend when I’m needed and when it matters and all the time I will feel as though my most important work is done!

What are you all hoping to accomplish in 2012? Is it going to be your biggest year yet? Tell me and the world… no pressure!

Happy New Year.

  1. I’ll throw my lot in with numbers 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 10 as well. If only I had the chance for number 1…

You’re welcome to help me celebrate my number 1… and I have no doubt that you’ll kick number 10’s ass!

I approve of this idea! I have a board and I believe that he has a board as well!
