Super Bowl XLVIII Party Prop Bets!

Super Bowl XLVIII BannerLadies and gentlemen, the big day is here!

Super Bowl 48 kicks off tonight at somewhere after 6pm depending on the pre-game and the anthem and the hoopla that will take place in New York  Jersey. And like every other year, this is the biggest gambling day in North America on the calendar. So if you want to get involved and want to bet on more than just who’s going to win the Super Bowl, prop bets are the way to go.

Every year when I get together with friends I print out a list of things that we can bet on during the game. Yes I include the game winner, but I also try to get some of the more frivolous bets to keep everyone entertained even if they aren’t football fans in the same way that I am.

I love gambling. I really, really do.

I won my first football pick ’em pool in grade 7. In grade 8 I gave out my first point spreads during the NCAA Final Four.

But I try my best now to reign it in.

That’s why I’ve never tried to put money on any of these prop bets with friends while we all watch the game together.

But if I were going to… here’s how it would work.

1) Everyone draws a number out of a hat for order of betting.

2) Each person picks, in order, their guess for the Total Points of the game.

3) The person closest to the Total Points without going over wins.

I’d suggest $5 per person, you don’t want to put anyone out. But it’s always nice to have something to look forward to winning or losing!

I hope that no matter who you’re cheering for tonight, or how much money you’ve got on the line, that you enjoy the Super Bowl.

And if you’re looking for more prop bets to play, here’s the list I’m bringing to the party tonight.

 Heads or Tails

 Winning Team

 First team to score

 First score will be

Will Bruno Mars and The Red Hot Chili Peppers play a song together on stage?

 Over/Under Total Points: 48

Over/Under Jersey number of 1st player to score a touchdown: 79.5

Over/Under for Renee Fleming’s National Anthem: 2 minutes and 23 seconds

Will either team successfully convert a 4th down attempt?

What Colour will the Gatorade be that is dumped on the Head Coach of the Winning Super Bowl Team? Clear/Water, Orange, Yellow, Red, Blue, Green, Other
