Young Offenders: Constantines at WayHome 2017

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new Constantines album, and to be honest we were thrilled that they were included in this year’s WayHome lineup.  And based on the WayHome crowd’s response, we were not alone.

Checking out their social media accounts it’s hard to get a feel for what’s going on but watching the band up on stage, there’s little doubt that the guys still have that “thing” that we fell in love with.

We could talk about nostalgia but instead, we’re going to talk about great energy levels, strong vocals and technically tight musicianship. Constantines took the WayBright stage on Friday at 6:30 PM and the crowd continued to build throughout the set. Fans gathered up near the stage and littered the lawn. They sang along and danced to some fan favourites including Arizona, Shower of Stones and Young Offenders.

We got a full out rock and roll smoke show, complete with overhead guitar playing and intensity and we loved it. The guys all looked pretty happy and comfortable up there. We can only hope that this means there’s new music coming.

WayHome 2017: Day 1 Photo Highlights, Trish

Day 1 of WayHome 2017 was filled with sun in the afternoon, and music all day (and late into the night) on the WayBright, WayAway, and WayHome stages. I can’t wait to see what Saturday and Sunday bring.

Check out my favourite photos from the day, including shots of festival goers, Cage the Elephant, Andy Shauf, Danny Brown, Tanya Tagaq, Constantines, and more – and stay tuned because more WayHome coverage is coming!

WayHome 2017 Lineup Announcement!

We’ve been waiting, all of us, patiently (mostly) for this day – and now it’s here…

WayHome has released the lineup for the 2017 music and arts festival, and the time is now to get excited for July 28-30 at Burl’s Creek.

With the release of their photo clues last week, WayHome started a conversation full of guesses, predictions, rumours and more. But now the guessing is over, and the planning can start. If you’ve already got your tickets for the festival, you’re hoping that some of the names on the list aren’t performing on stages at the same time (there are always hard decisions), and if you don’t have your tickets yet – it’s time to grab them so you can see Imagine Dragons, Frank Ocean, and Flume headlining on the weekend.

The last two years at WayHome have been a lot of fun. We’ve seen some amazing performances. We’ve seen some awesome totems. And we’ve witnessed the awesomeness of people coming together to enjoy music and art. The people, you people, that come to the fields and stages and campgrounds make this whole thing pretty cool.

Check the list of 2017 WayHome performers so far, and leave a comment telling us who you’re most excited to see.

And stay tuned – because we’ll have previews, interviews, and maybe even some badass contests leading up to the end of July.
