Artist: Ralph
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop / Disco / Synth
Related: MUNA, Betty Who, Fickle Friends
Song: Weather
Notes: The Canadian indie-pop sensation is wrapping up summer with a smash. Weather keeps our toes tapping and our heads bobbing from start to finish. Add this one to the list of reasons that Ralph is quickly becoming one of the most celebrated new acts in the country.

Artist: Nick Jonas & Robin Schulz
Hometown: Dallas, TX
Genre: Pop
Related: Selena Gomez, Christopher Wilde, DNCE
Song: Right Now
Notes: Nick Jonas knows a thing or two about pop jams, so nobody should be surprised that he’s done it again on this collaboration with Robin Schulz. Right Now is a blast. Get ready to feel like dancing. Turn it up.

Artist: Gabriela Geneva
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop / RnB
Related: Alexis Lynn, Casi, Marie Dolom
Song: You Were Right
Notes: After an exclusive run on Spotify, Gabriela Geneva’s new single, You Were Right is available everywhere – and that’s a good thing. The Toronto popstar stands tall in the lyrics of the song, offering strength to anyone who needs it. “Wanted me to sit by your side like a showpiece, sounded like you wanted a trophy. But I got my own thing.”

Artist: Bleeker
Hometown: Orillia/Toronto, ON
Genre: Rock / Alternative / Pop
Related: cleopatrick, Goodbye June, Rafferty
Song: James Dean
Notes: The boys from Bleeker hit us right in the ‘let’s get in the car and drive forever for no reason’ feels with James Dean. The alt-rock-pop track is a little different than what we’re used to from the Juno nominated trio, but that’s okay – because we like it!

Riverfest Elora Announces 10th Anniversary 2018 Lineup

Riverfest Elora is coming back to Bissell Park in 2018, and they’re bringing a spectacular list of artists to play the three-day August festival.

With 57 acts scheduled to play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (August 17-19), there is no shortage of excitement and anticipation for the 10th anniversary of the beloved small-town music festival.

As with any festival boasting this many names, there is a fantastic selection of emerging talent included. Acts like The Beaches, Caveboy, Weaves, FXRRVST, and Goodnight, Sunrise will be doing their best to leave with more fans than they came with. And if our previous experience seeing some of those acts on stage is any indication, the Riverfest faithful won’t be disappointed.

But that’s not all.

Riverfest Elora 2018 is also bringing major names to the stage to headline the festival. With acts including Blue Rodeo, The Flaming Lips, Carly Rae Jepsen, and July Talk all set to perform.

Note: Blue Rodeo returns to headline Riverfest Elora to help celebrate the festival’s 10th anniversary. The band played as Saturday headliners in 2014 and will be Sunday headliners, closing the festival, in 2018.

With three stages on site, and a host of Friday and Saturday After Party locations, Riverfest Elora 2018 is well set up to give attendees options. Sometimes this feels like a burden depending on your favourites and the schedule, but it’s also a chance to check out the different vibes, new acts, and more.

New Music Spotlight with Dear Rouge and More

New Music from Dear Rouge, RALPH, Leah Daniels, Caveboy and FRANKIIE

We’re excited to follow up International Women’s Day with a strong selection of female voices in this edition of the New Music Spotlight. Artists from Vancouver, Toronto, Uxbridge, and Montreal come together to make up our feature, and we love all of them.

Check out these five new songs, and leave a comment telling us which of these tracks by Dear Rouge, RALPH, Leah Daniels, Caveboy, and FRANKIIE will be added to your playlist.

Let’s do this!

Artist: Dear Rouge
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: Pop / Rock
Related: July Talk, Ivory Hours, Arkells
Song: Chains
Notes: Dear Rouge does what they do on this song, offering a fantastic vocal performance over a beat and musical track. Chains comes from the brand new album, PHASES (track #6), and is a great introduction to the new music. Enjoy!

Artist: RALPH
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop / Disco / Synth
Related: Charlotte Cardin, The Darcys
Song: September Fades
Notes: As one of Toronto’s hottest up-and-coming artists, RALPH continues to make waves with September Fades. The self-described hypothetical love child of Sade & Stevie Nicks & Donna Summer, she has another catchy track that will only serve to add to her growing popularity.

Artist: Leah Daniels
Hometown: Uxbridge, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Meghan Patrick, MacKenzie Porter, Lindsay Broughton
Song: 1st
Notes: Daniels shows off her range in her first single since 2015. 1st is a strong announcement that the Ontario artist is back on the scene. And, if this is a sign of what’s to come for Leah Daniels, we’re sure people will be pleased.

You never forget your first.

Artist: Caveboy
Hometown: Montreal, QC
Genre: Alt Dream Pop
Related: Parallels, Youngblood, Common Deer
Song: Landslide
Notes: It’s no secret that Caveboy have become a favourite of ours over the last year. And with Landslide, these three Montreal musicians have given us another reason to fall for them. We’re hopeful that the new single is a tease for a full album later this year… if we’re lucky.

Caveboy - NXNE 2017 - Port Lands

Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: DreamRock
Related: Kool Kat, goldkey, Liberty
Song: Glory Me
Notes: This four-piece group is back after time off to focus on themselves and life. One started a fashion line while another released a solo EP. One became a school teacher, and the other moved to a small island community to work and surf – but now, Glory Me is here, and is the first single from their upcoming, debut full-length album later in 2018.
