Somethin’ I’m Good At: Brett Eldredge at Boots & Hearts 2017

Hot off the release of his self-titled album, and Canadian Platinum and Gold plaques for Drunk On Your Love and Wanna Be That Song, Brett Eldredge hit the stage at Boots & Hearts 2017 with a lot to celebrate… and he did just that.

As the Sunday evening crowd rolled in and filled up the field in front of the main stage, Brett Eldredge and his band started things off with a heap of energy, and didn’t let up. Right away the Boots & Hearts fans got new music from Eldredge with Superhero, and while the track is new from the 10 day old album, there were people in the crowd singing along like they’d known it for year.

The set continued with big hits, covers, and more new music – and as it rolled on, the fans got even more excited than they were at the beginning of the show. There were signs in the air, girls on shoulders, guys on shoulders, dancing, singing, and cheering all over the place as the sun set on the final day of the festival.

Note: One of our favourite moments of the set, and maybe the entire weekend, came when Brett welcomed his dog, Edgar, to the stage. Wearing black headphones to protect his ears, Edgar ran out on the catwalk to meet his human – and then in a stunning display of patience and discipline, he sat perfectly still with a treat resting on his nose until he was given the command to get it. Any dog that can do that is awesome, any dog that can do that in front of 35,000+ country music fans is super awesome.

Through Don’t Ya, Love Someone, The Long Way, and all they to the end with Lose My Mind, the crowd was loud, happy, and invested in Brett Eldredge’s set. However, the loudest singing may have come on his Platinum single, Drunk On Your Love. The smash hit is a fan favourite, and when Brett invited everyone to sing along and help him out, they were more than happy to oblige.

Before the set was done, Brett Eldredge told everyone that he’d love to be back to play Boots & Hearts again… and we believe that he will.

But next time, he’ll be headlining and the crowd will be even louder!
